Ransomware to cause $20 billion in global losses this year

Ransomware remains the top threat to large and medium-sized businesses, with damages from this crime expected to exceed $20 billion before the end of 2021. 

The report shows that during the second half of 2021, only 20% of companies reported no cyberattacks, down from 32% last year. 

These ransomware gangs were not only very active, but started to become much more aggressive.” 

Phishing remains the main attack vector, with the report finding that 94% of malware is delivered via email.
